創作の部に出場する　関 さんは、
この夏休みに管弦楽部長として音楽コンクールに向けて渾身の力を振り絞って練習に励んでいました。その甲斐あって管弦楽部は優秀賞を獲得し東北大会への出場権を手にすることができました。しかし、英弁の練習をする時間はほとんどない状態でした。

そのような状況の中で、頑張り屋の彼女は英語弁論大会の創作部門（自分の思いや考えをを英語で発表するという超難解な課題）に挑戦し見事クリアーしてくれたのです。

明日香さんのタイトルは「Facing the Future」（未来に直面して）です

One year after the earthquake and many people have risen up to help disaster victims with
a lot of goodwill in their hearts. There is a strong “bond" between the heart of many people，and they are moving forward to take on whatever harsh future may lie ahead of us.
In the time since the disaster，I have really come to understand the importance of life and
the kindness of others，and it has made me reconsider how I should face the future. While it's important to accept fate，I think it's also important to“live in the now." No matter what tomorrow brings，we should live life to the fullest and continue to move forward.
